When it comes to effectively running your business, having the right tools to make logistics smoother and easier means everything. The object of the exercise when using these tools is to save time, money, and be more efficient. We all want to be able to work smarter, not harder, right?
Occasionally, I often get questions from clients (especially service-based clients) what kind of tools I use to run my business. Of course, there are some phenomenal tools out there. However, I have my personal favorites.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing business tools that have not only been a game changer for me but also for my clients as well.
ConvertKit (Email Marketing System)
Besides learning that having an email list for your business is one of the MOST IMPORTANT rules in running a business. WHERE to host your email list is just as important. I used to use MailChimp for a time but after comparing some of the features that ConvertKit offers, I LOVE ConvertKit so much better.
ConvertKit is more robust when it comes to email marketing. Virtually everything that you need to build, grow, and automate your email list is here. I love the powerful features it offers such as digital product page creation, landing pages, and the wonderfully popular email automation sequences that’s user friendly for beginners or advanced for those who want to create lead/sales funnels. ConvertKit is a must-have essential for both my branding and my website.

Asana (Task/Project Managing Software)
When I’m designing a brand or creating a website for new websites for clients, there’s a lot of moving parts behind the scenes that most clients don’t see. Having a planner is great but Asana keeps me on task and accountable when it comes to managing tasks for my business online. With its user-friendly and nifty organizing features, Asana’s managing tool helps me meet deadlines or finish tasks done sooner (which makes my clients happy).
One of the more brilliant features that I love is that I can share my project or specific tasks with my clients so we can focus on meeting their goals or completing tasks together together. There’s also an email feature where you can reference back to past correspondences instead of playing ping pong in your email inbox and sifting for conversations. You can easily share files and everything is saved based on that project.

Canva (Creative Asset Tool)
This last tool is a hot topic among other branding and web designers because this tool is often discouraged in our design arsenal, but I love to use Canva. Canva is a great way to design digital products and other printable and editable collateral that not only serves me but also serves my clients. When I’m not mainly using the Affinity Suite (my advanced graphic design software to design other brands), I use Canva mainly for social media and template creation for clients.
Canva is a powerful tool that helps me, and my clients enhance their branding, especially on social media. It also allows me to empower my clients to design and customize their own graphics and other collateral that will help showcase their branding without too much “tech stuff”. While I do not design logos or any of the branding collateral on Canva, it’s an excellent tool to teach my clients how to proudly market their branding assets I’ve created for them.
Canva offers FREEMIUM plans (free plans with the option for a paid plan). The possibilities are limitless on what you can design on Canva. It’s a win-win for me and for my clients too. You can try Canva here for FREE by clicking HERE.
While there are other wonderful tools that I do use, these are my top 3 go-to tools that I use for my business on a daily basis. These tools help me save money and a lot of time to free me up and give attention to various project. I hope these tool serve the same purpose for you also.
