Why I Prefer To Use SquareSpace For Blogging

There are many different web design platforms that have made their claim as being the best. While these platforms have their strong suits in what they offer when it comes to design and features, some also have their drawbacks. In fact, nearly all platforms do. There’s no such thing as a perfect web design platform. However, I’ve discovered that certain web design platforms touted as being the best are based off personal and professional preference.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to explore various web design platforms. I’ve explored WordPress, Wix, Shopify, and other web design platforms. Additionally, I’ve discovered that I also have a preference when it comes to our web design projects and ultimately SquareSpace is deemed my platform of choice.

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing the 5 key reasons why SquareSpace is my personal platform of choice when it comes to blogging and coaching my blogging clients.

Ease of Use

SquareSpace is not only user friendly for the designer but also for the client as well. Compared to other website platforms we’ve explored, SquareSpace makes it easy for our clients to navigate and make necessary adjustments on their own or with minimal guidance. Ease of use gives our clients an empowering sense of autonomy to take control of their business. Their menu navigation is well organized and really takes the guesswork out of finding what you’re looking for.

Security

This feature is top priority for our clients. While no website is 100% safe from cyber-attacks, we find that web site security is more reinforced with SquareSpace. Unlike open-sourced website (which is considered a coding playground for web developers/designers and potential hackers), SquareSpace’s website protection gives developers and designers space to freely work but with security blocking against malicious attacks. This give both us as designers and our clients peace of mind knowing that their website is safer.

Design Aesthetics

SquareSpace has been the pacesetter in aesthetically pleasing websites. Their modern, sleek design gives our clients a cutting-edge look. While they do have templates available for design, they also give blank canvas capability which gives us as web designers the space to customize our clients’ website that uniquely matches their brand.

They offer features that organize branding color palette’s, intelligent fonts combinations, and other special settings that are cohesive with our client’s brand. While organization setup can be extensive, it helps us tremendously with the design process and give our clients beautiful online presence that they can be proud of.

Website Features

SquareSpace has become a “one-stop-shop” when it comes to accessing and running a brand or business online. While the do offer premium features (paid features), everything our clients’ need is all in-house. This ranges from email marketing campaigns/mailing lists, eCommerce, client appointment scheduling, payment portals, etc. This takes the hassle of having to go to various third party platforms to get what you need to run your business effectively. SquareSpace’s website feature set up is simple and the features are user friendly.

Built to Last

Some website platforms require manually updates for plugins (additional apps on website) or the entire website system in order to keep the website from crashing or experiencing errors. SquareSpace doesn’t require that and will do the updates themselves. For clients who aren’t technical, this can come as a relief. As long as our clients are able to maintain both the website domain name and hosting, they aren’t any major problems outside of errors that may potentially occur with no fault of their own.

SquareSpace has been a strong pillar for me as a blogger. As a web designer, I love it, and my clients enjoy it too. I find that it’s ideal for coaches, consultants, and eCommerce. There’s no doubt that there are a lot of wonderful and powerful platforms that suit the specific needs of brands and businesses. I find that SquareSpace works well for me.
